SocialScope on Blackberry Storm

A bunch of media sites have already posted about SocialScope, none have posted any Storm specific impressions though. It is a Twitter/Facebook updater app for Blackberry. It is only in the alpha stage right now, but this app shows a lot of promise. It will install just fine on the Storm, although there is warning that specifies that the current version is not fully compatible with the Storm. I figured I would make an article about the quirks I have noticed while using SocialScope with the my Storm.

First off in order to get this app to work at all on the Storm, I had to disable compatibility mode. Doing this causes some bugs with the program. The most major bug, is that when compatibility mode is disabled, I cannot access the settings menu at all. Another issue when this mode is is disabled, is my Facebook tab doesn’t show up at all. Luckily when I do a status update is does in fact update both Twitter and Facebook.

The plus side is this app updates fast. Compared to Twitterberry, Socialscope downloads its updates much quicker. It also has tabs for each view, which makes it much easier to bounce in and out of our messages. This app does have some great potential and I am reall hoping they create a Storm specific version soon. You can sign up for the alpha here SocialScope. Be sure to let me what you think on Twitter.
