Well it has been an interesting 30 days. The Pre received a update, the Hero received an update, the Motorola Droid was released, and now the great battle of Sprint top crop is over. It was a tough fight for both devices, and definitely not an easy choice for me by any stretch. The Pre’s webOS has the spit and polish of a seasoned vet, while the Hero’s sense UI is beautiful and functional. So which device did I ultimately choose to keep? Hero vs Pre: Final Thoughts
Good review. I tested the Pre, Pixi, and Hero and while I feel the Pixi had the best form factor (excellent capacitive touch with 360 accelerometer, and incredible browser), the flexibility of the Hero and Android OS won me over. I felt WebOS was just too locked down out of the box and Android was more open and flexible (similar to your experience). Perhaps in another year when the Palm APP store has more to offer and Palm opens up some, things may change.
