Google Announces The Nexus One
Well the world hasn’t been altered, the industry isn’t shaken, the carriers are not trembling in their cozy offices, but we have a bad ass Android phone! SO looks like all the leaked information was correct about the Nexus One. The only big surprise was that it will be available for Verizon customers in Spring 2010. So fire up that Droid a few more times and get it ready for eBay, because this IS the Android phone to have. My only reservation is that it does not come with HTC’s Sense UI, but I am sure there will be a similar device from them with that software. Get your spanking new Nexus One at http://google.com/phone or hit the jump link for some in depth specs and pricing information.
Pricing is a little all over the place for the Nexus One. If you are new to T-Mobile, or want to but it unsubsidized, than pricing is pretty cut and dry. For those folks that want to upgrade, well, its not as simple. Here is a cheat sheet to help you decide which price you will get:
- Nexus One without service: $529
- Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for new customers: $179
- Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for qualifying existing T-Mobile customers who are adding data plans: $279
- Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for qualifying existing T-Mobile customers who are upgrading their data plans: $379
