I managed to score a hands-on with Sony’s Bloggie. It’s a HD mini-camcorder series that is the perfect for Bloggers. Not only does it record up to Full HD (1080p), it records it in the very flexible MP4 format and can also take 5MP still shots. It provides a simple to use interface, with advanced sharing options through the PMB software.

First up is the MHS-PM5 (pictured above). It comes in two packages, just the camera, or a bundled deal which includes a 4GB memory card and the 360 lens adapter. This is the cheaper of the two, featuring digital zoom instead of optical and lacking the vertical grip. The neat thing about this version is that it has the option for the 360 lens adapter, which allows you to record 360 video that can be viewed on a PC or Mac with the included PMB software.

Next up is the MHS-CM5 (pictured above) and it is the higher end of the two devices. It features a comfortable vertical grip on the device, a large 2.5″ LCD screen, and a 5x optical zoom. It features four different colors – pink, blue, white, and eggplant (a dark purple), a compact form-factor, so it can be taken virtually anywhere with ease, and SteadyShot® Image Stabilization.
This is the perfect device for the anyone looking for an affordable, fun, and efficient way of creating, uploading, and sharing videos. The MHS-PM5 and MHS-CM5 are available on SonyStyle.com or the Sony Style store for $169.99 ($189.99 for the bundle) and $199.99, respectively. Make sure to check back when I put this device through the Guru Inspection!
