Next Version of Android = Froyo
Looks like Engadget has the scoop, yea I said it, on the latest tasty treat Google has in store for Android. That treat is called “Froyo”, as in frozen yogurt, not Flan like we all thought. So far that is the only details we have on the update, no news on what it will include COUGH multitouch COUGH. Stay tuned we’ll get you any other information we can.
Can I just add that multitouch has been added to the browser, gallery and maps application in a recent update for 2.1 of Android. Oddly, multitouch isn’t on other applications like email or Facebook photos like it is on the iPhone. There is not multitouch on the keyboard either which can improve typing accuracy and I can guarantee this because I am commenting from a Nexus One phone running Android 2.1.
