Apple event scheduled for the 12th
Predictions:
Nic – New iPhone NFC, LTE, taller, baller, wish it had a girl so it could call her, iPad mini
Mike – If there’s a mini iPad it will in fact be called an iPod. They’re too hard up. 7” is great for consumption and games, but a horrible idea for an iPad. New service being shown off to demo larger screen and show how amazing and magical it is. iPhone: LTE, Bigger, battery.
Geoff – new iphone, lte, taller for bigger screen and MAWR BATTERY!! NFC for sure with passbook. Apple store is going to push the NFC. Will be a new iPod – 7” – (sic) conservation of new iPod is to not zombie another product. Would make sense for a 4” phone and 7” MP3 player. iPad will be it’s own event so this is obviously NOT an iPad Mini.
Vic – the rumors. bigger screen, 4G, new iPod 4” size. 7” device (iPad Mini) moved to October.

Great podcast,
I thought I would chime in and point out that I have had iPhones for the last 5 years, and I am looking to move to the Nokia 920. I’m kind of sick of the iPhone, and the longer screen does nothing for me. as you guys mentioned, I’m going to wait to see what Apple has to offer, but I probably wont bother with it. I’m sick of Apple trying to tell me what I want. I want a big screen, and really good camera and I want some more better home screen functionality, the live tiles of the Windows Phone are fantastic.
I think with the release of Windows 8, and the MS Surface tablets it will help push the Win8 tiles UI in a positive direction which will help with Windows Phone sales.
Nokia’s marketing is crap, iPhone will outsell, but in my opinion the Nokia 920 is a better phone, people just don’t know it.
But yeah, will be interesting to see what the iPhone 5 has to offer.

Thanks for listening and for your post! I agree (this is Mike) that the Nokia is more compelling than the iPhone. I’d love to see Nokia return to their former glory.

haha.. lets be honest, I’m probably going to hold onto my iPhone 4 just in case. and if the 920 sucks, I will sell them both and get an iPhone 5. GO VIC!!!
