Guru Inspection: Pure Calendar Widget for Android
I use my phone for many things, one of the most important things I us is the calendar. If you have used Windows Mobile or Blackberry phones, you know how nice it is to have your calendar’s agenda on your home screen. With Android devices, Google has their own clalendar widget, but it leaves much to be desired. The Pure Calendar widget by Koxx will fill just about every calendar need you have. There are multiple size layouts, any thing from 2×2 all the way to full screen 4×4, so fitting the widget on your screen is no issue at all. The text size, color, widget size, transparency, skin, are all customizable. Almost every aspect of the widget can be tweaked to your preference.
Guru Inspection: HelixLauncher2 for Android Review
One of my favorite things about Android is the level of customization you get right out of the box. Helixlauncher2 adds yet another level of customization to your home screen by giving you a custom dock, better scrolling, and seven home screens. This app only works with the Nexus One, but have no fear, there is HelixLauncher also also, which works with most other Android devices.

Guru Inspection: Pure Music Widget for Android
When I switched from the Hero to the Nexus One, the first thing I noticed was the lack of really nice widgets. Sense UI provides some of the best widgets for Android that are not only functional, but look great. Have no fear, Android developer Koxx has made calendar, messaging, and now music widgets that are fully skinable and highly functional to fill the gap on none Sense UI devices. Read on to see the full Guru Inspection of the Pure Music Widget.

Now we have apps like Tweetcaster, Seesmic, Swift, and now Touiteur (pronounced Twitter, but spelled in french) from LevelUp Studio. These are the same guys behind Beautiful Widgets for Android, so I have high hopes for this app. So I am going to put this app through the Guru Inspection and see where it lands. Guru Inspection: Better Keyboard for Android Review
no imageWith the new Android 1.5 update, us G1 users have gained a great new feature, the virtual keyboard! Well not even a day after the update is out, developers Better Android have released their latest application called Better Keyboard. It basically improves on the standard keyboard by giving you larger buttons, skins, swipe gestures and long press control. Better Keyboard costs $1.99 in the Android market and is worth every penny if you use the virtual keyboard or you like to customize every aspect of your phone.
Better Android’s keyboard gives you all of the same features of the standard android keyboard like text correction, auto capitalization, space twice for period, and auto correction. I have been using it pretty heavily for the last two days and have had no issues with it at all. I am really looking forward to seeing all of the skin options in the future. Check out the video below to see Better Keyboard in action!
