The iPhone 4S launched on 3 carriers, At&t, Verizon, and Sprint. Shortly there after, we hear about a regional carrier formerly known as Cellular South, called C Spire Wireless getting the iPhone. Well it is the real deal people, and now you can pre-order your iPhone 4S and have it ready to go on the launch date of November 11th.

The next big flagship device we could possibly see available on multiple carriers should be the Galaxy Nexus. So, if you are on C Spire, and you have been using Android wanting the iPhone, or even thinking about getting into the smartphone world, hit this link and get signed up to order one.

Barnes & Noble Nook Event Announced, Kindle Fire Competition?

Barnes & Noble has been in the e-reader business for a couple of years now. They usually announce a new product before the holiday season hits hard. They have set the event this year for November 7th and it is defiantly Nook related. We will probably be seeing the Nook 2 or the second iteration of the Nook.

The current Nook price is at $250 and has sold reasonably well. This will be a tough follow up this year, especially since Amazon’s Kindle Fire will be for sale on November 15th for $199. The Fire is a more robust tablet than the current Nook is, and has a lot more content availability. We will see if Barnes & Noble step their game up, or stay right in the segment of the market they are in.

GameStop Looks for Other Retail Avenues

GameStop has been a big player in the buying and selling games and game consoles. They have been very lucrative at it and now are looking for ways to branch their business. Everyone knows that gaming is pushing to mobile devices more and more. Now, GameStop is going to start stocking Android Tablets pre-loaded with games.

The first tablets available will be the Acer Iconia Tab 100, Asus Eee Pad Transformer and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which are pretty much the heavy hitters of the Android Tablets. What makes this interesting is that GameStop makes a lot of money on trading games and systems in. Recently, they have started taking iPod Touch, iPhones and more general gadgets in on trade, so surely they will expand to tablets.

Although the tablets will cost around the same as other retailers on the market, we feel that this is a smart move for GameStop. They have to push forward to the future, and lets face it, the future of gaming is buying games with the tap of a button. We will see in the future on what else GameStop adds to their business, who knows maybe they will create an app store to sell games on.

The Art of Skyrim

As November 11th draws closer, the anticipatory conversations my friends share about Skyrim seem to grow longer. Having never played the series, I usually lose interest and walk away from their detailed discussions. Though I am bored by the depth of their detail, it is it exactly that which draws so many to the Elder Scrolls series. Click details to watch a “Making of Skyrim” trailer that not only explores the details of the game, but the passion of its developers. It is a reminder that great games are more than just great entertainment. They are art.
