GURU EXCLUSIVE: Google Planning to Acquire Sprint!?

GURU EXCLUSIVE: Google Planning to Acquire Sprint!?

Word from our man Will Clark, is that Google is looking to acquire Sprint. He has been told that Sprint and Google execs were flown down to Florida recently to discuss the acquisition. This would make a lot of sense with the Google Voice integration, Nexus S 4G, and Sprint’s bleeding of money. Google has the funds to keep Sprint going, ala “Google Wireless”. With the upcoming AT&T/T-Mobile merger, Sprint has already said that they will not be able to survive without an acquisition. On the Google side of things, they have been trying to break into the wireless market in many ways (spectrum bids, online store, Nexus devices etc..) and buying Sprint would give them a huge foot in the door. We will keep you updated as soon as we get any more information.

Sprint Supports Tight Integration with Google Voice

Sprint Supports Tight Integration with Google Voice

Google Voice is such an awesome service and used daily by yours truly. In fact, I use Google Voice 100% for all my calls and text message needs. Sprint and Google aim to make that happen for more people by tightly inregrating Google Voice with every Sprint phone number. Users can now use their Sprint phone number as their Google Voice number without having to port it over to Google. Even better this is not OS dependent. You can use this service with all of Sprint’s phones weather it’s Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, or feature phones! All of your calls, texts, and voicemails will show up at google.com/voice and can be accessed from any browser. On Sprint? Give this a try if you haven’t already, it will change the way you use your phone. Trust me, I’m a Guru.

Google Voice Web App Available for iPhone and webOS

Google Voice Web App Available for iPhone and webOS

If you are a Google Voice  user and own an iPhone, you have pretty much been screwed lately. All the Google Voice apps have been pulled from the app store, andApple in their infinite wisdom, denied the official app form Google.

WebOS users at least have a pretty good app to use. Now users of both platforms can access Google Voice from their browsers with a very nice webapp. The webapp offers you all for the features the full Google Voice site does.  You can text, call, and even search through your contacts list. It is actually quite impressive for a webapp. Stay tuned for a full review pretty soon.
